HENRY T. LANE RINK
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
Investing in Our Legacy & Our Future
The storied tradition of Arrows Hockey dates back to the formation of our first team in 1943, just two years after St. Sebastian’s was established. From Saturday nights at the Skating Club of Boston to the outdoor rink on Nonantum Hill and the Henry T. Lane Rink on the Needham campus, more than 550 talented St. Sebastian’s athletes have laced up their skates as an Arrow. Over the course of eight decades, our hockey teams have won Independent School League and New England Championships and have prepared many players for outstanding careers in college, professional, and Olympic ranks.
Whether playing for the team or cheering from the stands, Arrows Hockey has always been a source of great pride for St. Sebastian's.
Elevating Our Rink to Match Our Game
In the past five years we have renovated or created state-of-the-art facilities for almost all our athletic teams with the exception of our hockey program’s rink. It is time to revitalize the rink to match our reputation as a top hockey program in one of the most competitive leagues in the country. The Henry T. Lane Rink Improvement Project promises to address our facility needs and honor our hockey tradition as well as continuing to honor the memory of Henry Lane ’49 P’77, long-time teacher, hockey coach and Athletic Director.
